Many of you know that I recently did a gut renovation and refinish of my basement and I wanted to spread the word about my contractor - Old Castle Construction. I can't recommend them highly enough. Gerard (the owner) and all the workers were prompt, gracious, patient and professional. Gerard returns phone calls promptly, takes his time talking to his clients, uses email to communicate changes and schedules and goes out of his way to get the job done plus, he lives in the neighborhood and can respond quickly when needed. The project turned out to be bigger than I had anticipated and Gerard's very reasonable estimate stayed very reasonable. The total project took 28 days from the start of demolition to the last item on the punch list. I'll be doing more work with him. He is fair and honest and my only regret is that I didn't find him sooner! Just thought you all might want to know.

I bought and completely renovated a 2 family house 10 years ago - I was friends with the contractor and he said he was giving me a good price. I initially hired Gerard and Old Castle construction because many things on the initial job were not done correctly. Gerard was honest in explaining how things were not installed or built correctly (placement of Jacuzzi tub, sealing bathroom tiles, insulation between walls and ceilings) and fixed them. I wish I had known him then because it has cost much more money because it wasn't done correctly the first time. I will only use him in the future due to his integrity, honesty, can commitment to get the job done right the first time.
